Transfer Locations from One Shopify Store to Another
If you use custom locations in one Shopify store and want to transfer them to another, you can do it quickly using a CSV export and import. Just follow the steps below.
Steps to Transfer Locations
Step 1. Select your stores
In your source store, go to the Locations section and select stores you want to transfer.
Step 2. Export locations to CSV
Click Export as CSV. The file will download automatically.

Step 3. Open the downloaded file
Open the CSV file in Excel, Google Sheets, or any other spreadsheet editor.
Step 4. Locate the R+Id column
In the spreadsheet, locate the column named R+Id — it contains unique identifiers tied to your source store.
Step 5. Clear the R+Id values
Delete all values in the R+Id column for your location rows — the cells must be left completely empty. This step is required: if the old identifiers remain, the import on the new store will fail or produce incorrect results. Save the file as a CSV.

Step 6. Import locations into the new store
Go to the Import section in R+ Store Locator App in your second store and upload the edited CSV file using the import function.

Common Mistakes
- R+Id values not cleared properly — the import may fail or locations may not be created correctly. Make sure every cell in that column is truly empty, not containing a space or zero.
- File saved in the wrong format — after editing, always save the file as CSV (UTF-8), not XLSX.
